Aviacon made a delivery of a second Mi-171E helicopter to the Nigerian Air Force
On the 2d of December, 2020 Aviacon made a delivery of a second Mi-171E helicopter to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), with the aircraft arriving to NAF Base Makurdi. The helicopter was transported aboard Ilyushin Il-76TD RA-76502. The NAF received its first Mi-171E (also delivered by Aviacon) at the beginning of the year and it was officially inducted into service during a ceremony attended by President Muhammadu Buhari on 6 February. “The new aircraft will undoubtedly boost NAF’s contributions in the fight against insurgency, armed banditry and other criminal activities in the country,” the NAF said.
Aviacon is widely known in the professional community of helicopter operators as a reliable provider of cost-effective solutions for the delivery and redeployment of their rotorcraft. Our aircrafts can safely fit two medium utility helicopters (MI-8/17, Ansat, Kamov’s models).
Company’s loadmasters also obtained proven experience in loading/offloading of the Bell models (-208 / 215 / 412), Eurocopter AS350 (Squirrel), SA 341 (Gazelle), Westland Lynx, SA 330 (Puma ), AS 532 (Cougar), AS332 (Super Puma) and other models of rotorcraft of the same class fitted and secured onto IL-76 cargo deck.
That is why Aviacon became the first choice IL-76 carrier to airlift choppers to the various locations around the world including hard to reach, military and dangerous aerodromes.
