In September 2020, Aviacon’s IL-76 delivered a humanitarian cargo from Abu Dhabi (UAE) to Sudan. The shipment consisted of medical supplies and equipment that will benefit thousands of healthcare workers in this country.

The aid was sent by the UAE to help reduce the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in Sudan. The plane was chartered by the Emirates Red Crescent carried medications and medical supplies and equipment as part of the UAE's humanitarian response to the global pandemic.

The medical aid included essential supplies used to maintain the precautionary and preventive measures aimed at confronting the coronavirus pandemic, assist front-line medical staff, and support their efforts to contain the virus in Sudan.

Over the years Aviacon has been many times involved in ad hoc and large-scale humanitarian relief flight operations for the governments, international NGOs, and other aid providers.
